The S&P Capital IQ UK Fund Awards 2012 was its inaugural event, recognising excellence within the Asset Management industry, held on Thursday 25th October at One Mayfair, London.
Bellman Media managed the Standard & Poor's European Fund Awards for 5 years across 10 countries and so we were perfectly placed to partner with S&P Capital IQ on these new awards. The brief was to develop an awards brand that reflected the S&P Capital IQ brand, was synonymous with quality and had longevity to ensure the awards would grow in stature over the years to follow.
The first part of our brief was to develop the awards branding. The logo needed to reflect the S&P Capital IQ logo but also work as a recognisable stand-alone device, which could be applied in multiple formats and sizes in often busy environments.
We used ‘One’ as the theme for 2012. This worked well on many levels; it was the first one, held at One Mayfair and was the one award to win. The theme was rolled out across a wide suite of collateral on- and off-line .
One Mayfair, previously a church, was a dramatic backdrop for the event. We maximised the venue's architectural features when applying the theme branding and the brand colours - black, red and white were used to create drama and impact.
A real focal point was created by the main stage centrepiece. We used the 'hex' device, an integral and clearly identifiable part of the S&P Capital IQ brand and the awards logo, as the backdrop.
