We have undertaken several projects for Roche Diagnostics, including this ground-breaking campaign in co-operation with the Telford & Wrekin PCT.
The aim was to raise awareness of Chlamydia among young men, rather than the traditional female audience, and to encourage them to take part in remote testing. To ensure engagement, we used humour in a 'street cred' style on direct mail and posters placed in workplace washrooms.
The campaign had very positive results with 43% take-up of test kits. This innovative campaign was cited in many reports following the pilot and formed a key part of the recommendations in a report presented to Parliament.
"Almost 3,000 urine test kits were taken from the display boxes placed in workplaces. Of these 401 specimens were submitted to the lab - representing 14% take up."
